Amadeus
by Peter Schaffer
July 18 - August 3
Peter Schaffer’s award-winning 1979 play is a fictional account of the lives of composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, imagining a rivalry at the court of Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor.
On Broadway, Amadeus won the 1981 Tony Award for Best Play,
and Shaffer adapted it for the much acclaimed 1984 film of the same name, directed Milos Forman.
