This new play by Marc Deaton takes an abstract look at the lives and relationships of three women, Delilah and her two daughters, Dinah and Eve,
from the 1950’s to the 1990’s, in the American Southwest.
The story is told by Thaddius, Dinah’s son. Through a series of scenes, this play with music in two parts uncovers the “memories” and the “truths” that the characters experience in their lives together.
A Memory of Truth? explores the forbidden world of betrayal, abuse and family loyalty. It is rigorous, harrowing, poignant and funny all at once, and includes music performed by the characters, inspired by traditional hymns, Gregorian chant, Mozart and Fauré, composed and arranged by Nathaniel Baker.
